It’s only been a few days since we returned from the USA Rugby Sevens Tournament in Las Vegas and we can’t wait till next year’s event. Why you ask? Well, this tournament is the premier rugby event in the United States. It’s festive atmosphere, international audience, weather and location make it the ideal weekend away. It’s so much more than a rugby tournament. It’s a chance to explore state-of-the-art casinos and hotels. It’s a chance to soak in some desert sun, watch top class rugby players and meet new friends from around the world. It’s also a chance to party in the city that truly doesn’t sleep (we can’t believe us New Yorkers are saying that) and meet face to face with professional rugby athletes at various official and unofficial after parties.

No scandal here.

With growing pains expected, NBC is actually televising this event live and broadcasting for the rest of America to see. Anyone we’ve talked to back home have renewed interest in this beloved sport of ours and we owe many thanks to NBC for making that possible.

While out in Vegas, we Bakliners manned our booth amongst the fun at the Fan Festival. Our goal to sell apparel was not allowed and although this was a capitalistic blow to our business, it was still vastly important for us to be there to meet with the players, faces, fans and future customers all weekend. For our amusement, we set up the latest and best rugby video game (Rugby Challenge) and let fans have at it all three days. We were never alone however, as hundreds of fans took the time to meet with us, chat about our product and beg us to sell it in the parking lot. Of course, you can always click that little button at top of this page that says “Shop Bakline“!

Any fan of rugby should make an effort to make it to Las Vegas in 2013 and get ready to have a fantastic time – it’s a given.
