Built with versatility in mind, the Distance 4" Split Short is made for racing the marathon, with enough pockets for all your nutrition. Not too short and not too long, the cut and design balances the freedom of a split racing short with the utility of a training short so you can step up to the line knowing you have what you need, secure and in easy reach.

We find that this is a comfortable fit, no matter your gender identity. The liner has been specifically designed to improve comfort as compared to our peers.

A waistband should be the last thing on your mind when you’re pushing the pace. Through extensive testing—and frustration with brands that simply copy each other—we refined the elastic waistband to sit securely without restriction. It won’t fold in the wash, flip mid-run, or dig and chafe on hot days. Comfortable at any speed, and never in your way.

With six pockets, the Distance 4” is built for longer miles without excess bulk. Two mesh gel pockets on each hip keep fuel within reach, while an inner key pocket secures small essentials. A rear zippered pocket fits a phone, making it race-ready for any distance. A built-in drying loop makes post-run care effortless.

This measurement would be based on a traditional men's waist pant size in inches.

Fit guidance specific to the Distance 4" Men's Split Shorts: We develop all Bakline products to fit as close to a "true-to-expected-size" as possible. That means we design our own size chart but compare ourselves to competitor products and reviews to ensure we get the sizing and fit just right. A major part of testing was to find the perfect waist band. One that doesn't fold in the laundry, or flip, dig and chafe you on those hot days. An external and adjustable drawstring helps you find the right fit.

Whatever your go to size would be in a store, that's what we'd recommend you go with. The sizing chart below is based on the product measurements, not body measurements, with the exception of "Pant Size." If you lay your best fitting shorts completely flat and measure across the top, that should be compared to our 1/2 Waist. As these are split shorts, they're forgiving in terms of the size of your quads and thighs.

Our products are designed to be washed normally. While handwashing will definitely improve the life of any garment, it is not required for Bakline products.
